Bangkok: Bosch launches ‘S3 MF’ the sealed maintenance free battery. ‘S3 MF’ is a 100% maintenance free, using calcium-calcium production technology and toped by a ventilated cover from the factory. With the said technology, the S3 MF battery can last for 1.5 – 2 years without filling the water throughout its lifetime.
Mr. Yingyuad Whangprayoat, General Manager of Automotive Aftermarket Division, Robert Bosch Thailand, revealed that Bosch Thailand has recently launched the 100% maintenance free battery ‘S3 MF’ to the market. The ‘S3 MF’ battery is a pure maintenance free battery comes with a labyrinth structured and ventilated cover sealed from the factory which makes it a pure maintenance free battery that do not requires any water filling throughout its 1.5 – 2 years product life time. This will give the customers a problem-free and increase the convenience. ‘S3 MF’ battery used the ‘calcium-calcium’ production technology which ensures the precise starting power. Bosch ‘S3 MF’ battery carries around 15 models that could well cover almost 100% of Japanese passenger and pick-up vehicles. The unique advantage and convenience benefit makes Bosch S3 MF battery well acceptance to users in Japan, Korea, China, Australia and Malaysia.
The average product life time of ‘S3 MF’ battery is about 1.5 to 2 years. The price of ‘S3 MF’ battery is set at around 10-20% higher than the conventional type battery but it offers much more convenience to the users. The users have no need to worry about topping up the battery so it enhance the usage time of the battery when compared to the normal battery which can be damaged if it was not properly topping up.
‘For this initial stage, Bosch ‘S3 MF’ battery has a good coverage for almost 100% of Japanese vehicle. We plan to launch the European application by next year. This year the market competition of battery for the automotive aftermarket is quite strong, due to the reduction of demand from OE side which makes the other battery manufacturers turning their focus to aftermarket sales. It is important for the users to select and use the right battery that fit to the condition of each car. For example, cars which do not make any changes or do not make any new installation of electrical devices, may consider using the same battery power as installed from the factory. However, if there is any installation of additional devices which require higher power capacity, for example, additional sound systems, and additional lighting systems or if the cars are regularly being parked for a long period of time, the users may consider changing the battery which offered a higher power. Besides, the reliability of each battery manufacturers is also another important factor that should be considered.
